Security and privacy overview
VertexStealth keeps your browser profiles, cookies, saved logins and proxy details on your own computer. Our servers hold only a small account record, and the app has no advertising and no usage analytics.
What stays on my computer?
- Your browser profiles and their data: cookies, local storage, history and extensions
- Profile settings, proxy hostnames and any proxy credentials you enter
- Application settings
We do not receive these and we do not see which websites you visit. Uninstalling the app does not delete this folder automatically, so you can remove it yourself if you want it gone.
What do your servers store?
| Data | Why we keep it |
|---|---|
| Email address and password (stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider) | Create and secure your account |
| Plan, trial dates, administrator and ban status | Apply plan limits and enforce suspensions |
| Random identifiers for your profiles (not their names, settings, proxies or content) | Apply the profile limit of your plan |
| A hashed device identifier (SHA-256, cannot be reversed to your hardware ID) | Bind a device to one account and enforce the one-time trial |
| Onboarding answers you choose to give, and your acceptance of the terms | Improve the product and keep a record of agreement |
| Payment status and transaction reference | Take payment and keep tax records. Card numbers are handled by the payment providers, not by us. |
| Scrubbed crash reports (on by default, can be turned off in Settings, Diagnostics) | Find and fix bugs |
What does VertexStealth not do?
- No advertising and no usage analytics inside the app
- We do not sell personal data
- We do not browse on your behalf
How are accounts protected?
We use a managed authentication service with salted password hashes, row-level security on the database, restricted database functions that re-check administrator rights on the server, and encrypted connections between the app and our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password.
How long is data kept?
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data | While your account exists. After a deletion request it is removed or anonymised within 30 days; provider backups expire within 90 days. |
| Crash reports | Deleted automatically after 90 days |
| Ban records | Up to 3 years, so a banned device cannot simply return |
| Payment and tax records | As long as the law requires, typically 6 to 7 years |
